Daily Feeding Guide
When switching your cat’s diet, the change should be made gradually, by replacing the current food with increasing portions of Dick Van Patten’s Natural Balance L.I.D. Limited Ingredient Diets. The change should be completed after 5 to 7 days. The maintenance of proper body weight is most important for your cat’s health. Consult your veterinarian for specific weight recommendations for your cat. Remember, fresh clean water should be available at all times!
Food intake requirement may vary depending on age, activity, and environment, and should be adjusted accordingly

Kittens – Newly weaned kittens can be fed moistened Dry Cat Food. You may want to add a small amount of Canned Cat Food for ease of feeding.
Adult Cat– Adults should be fed either once or twice per day. It is suggested to start with the amounts recommended in the Table. Energy requirements vary with environmental conditions, temperature and activity of your cat. The amount of food should always be adjusted to suit your cat’s needs.
Gestating and lactating Queens– These special case felines will consume more, usually 1/2 to 2 cups daily
Older Cat – As your cat begins to age, his/her energy expenditure will decrease. Decreasing the amount of food accordingly will allow for the maintenance of proper body weight for less active cat. Older cats are sometimes more reluctant to eat hard foods.
